Jing Liang rare appearance on the montée des marches… CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

      2024-05-21

      TONY’S MAIN SOURCE OF INSPIRATION

From the opening ceremony to everything in between…

Cannes Film Festival’s diverse woman in ward has always been something special to Tony. It is a period after the launch of the Ready-to-Wear Fall Winter collection, and around the corner with the upcoming Couture one before Paris Fashion Week, not to forget the in-between worldwide trunk shows.

But it has always been one of the most anticipated Festival and red carpet for him…

It reminds him of the his main core and source of inspiration no matter what the collection is about: and it is the beautiful, and diverse woman he creates for.

      FROM THE OPENING CEREMONY

The Chinese actress and producer Jing Liang, or also known as Jing Liang, embraced the red carpet’s opening ceremony of the 77thAnnual Cannes Film Festival in her own gracious way, representing her famous movie ‘Feng Liu Yi Dai.

This gorgeous lady was snapped, on the busiest day of the festival, on the famous montée des marches, alongside her husband.

This set up and frame will remain the most famous one after the countless years of the festival.

A DEEP LOOK INTO THE TONY WARD DRESS

Jing Liang showed up in look number 06 from the upcoming Tony Ward Ready-to-Wear Fall Winter 2024/25 collection that will be launched in our worldwide stores in September.

As much as the inspiration of the collection is around the ‘Safari Sunset’ and adventurous journey that we embark in, it is, and will always be around the woman embodying the dress, and making it stand out from the crowd and from its space.

The dress is made of black tulle with long sleeves, and fully embroidered in carefully contrasted golden stones and silk threads, mixed with outlines of black ones, following a dense pattern of palm tree branches; just like the safari journey, in a vast wild golden Sahara.

The embellishment is gradually cascading from the sheer tulle boat neckline, in full dancing movement on the bust and dropped waist, onto the plane black A-line skirt.

It’s like the palm branches are moving in different directions to form a sculptural shape, interrupted by a clinched waist.

The shimmery craftsmanship, made through innovative techniques by the hands and hearts of the Ateliers’ savoir-faire, sparkles the vast space; whether it was on the sand dunes desert or on the French riviera’s red carpet.

It is harmonizing its surrounding… yet still standing out from it.

Just like Tony’s thought while creating this particular collection, it is the Tony Ward Ready-to-Wear Fall Winter 2024/25 collection, and as much as it is a winter collection, it is one designed for a warm overland journey.

And it couldn’t be more literal than that.
